Hello everybody. My name is Casey, I live in Minnesota. I've never built an amplifier before, but I've got the urge to bad. Could anybody suggest a good kit to start with? Initially I'd love to build a pair of mono block amps, around 100 watts. I've searched the forums and found a few things that seem interesting, like some kits on aussieamplifiers.com. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

P.Daniel, P.Anders and Brian offer kits.
I think each one of them is good enough. Check them out and decide for yourself. |

Hi,
for a first project, stick to no more than 60W from a chipamp. Most can manage 50 to 60W with the correct transformer. Most chipamps can be built to work with 4ohm speakers. But I believe chipamps work better with 8ohm speakers. I, therefore recommend 50W to 60W into 8ohm monoblocks. You can always use them as dedicated mid or treble driving amps later when you decide you are ready for a more ambitious project.
