Hello All,
I am new to the DIY scene. I built Gainclone LM3875 and now I want to build a remote controlled module for controlling the volume, mute, power and input. Has anyone built RF controlled (not IR) for Gainclone? The advantage of RF is that it can be controlled from very long range, even through walls and doesn't need to be directed directly to the IR receiver. there are many free frequencies, I intend to use 433Mhz. RF chips for these frequencies are very cheap these days ($2 for receiver and transmitter chips). I want my module to interface with local buttons, motorized volume control or chip volume control (Wolfson or something else), character LCD display (4x20) and LEDs. What consideration I have to do when building such module? |

I used this kit:
http://www.crowcroft.net/kitsrus/k180.pdf from a Canadian distributor (I see they have a 10-channel one as well) http://store.qkits.com/moreinfo.cfm/QK181 You would have to work out the interface details yourself. |
