TDA1308 is a dedicated little IC for Headphones applications.
I have had the idea to order it, and show my brother
how small a fairly good Headphones-Amp can be made
with modern IC technology.

The easiest solution ist to get hold of an elder Acer CD-ROM reader, it contains a Philips TDA 1038, other CD-ROM players from Samsung, contain PT2038, which has same pinout and characteristics.
I used such chip to repair a Noxon2audio internet receiver. I used a small saw and cut out the amplifier part.... it works on 5 volts and has very low hiss.
