Hello All,
I have the LM3875 Gainclone kit. I got a transformer for it but I'm unable to tell from the schematic on the transformer howto connect it to the rectifier boards. Here is a duplicate of the image on the transformer: |

Hi,
RED and ORA is ground and ground return. They must be connected togheter on the grounds of the amp LM3875. BLK and YEL must go to the alternate 'ins' of the rectifier bridge. Than you have +positive and -negative from the rectifier bridge. Succes. |

This is a typical Avel Lindberg tranny color scheme. If you're in the US, you have 115V household power. If both of these things are true then...
Connections are (man I swear I post this like once a week ):AC POWER IN TO TRANNY (PRIMARIES) Blue and Purple (Violet?) Together to AC Hot (Black Wire) Brown and Gray Together to AC Neutral (White Wire) AC OUT FROM TRANNY TO RECTIFIER (SECONDARIES) Black and Red Separately to each AC1 hole...doesn't matter which AC1 hole Orange and Yellow Separately to each AC2 hole...doesn't matter which AC2 hole Heck...I'll just add some wildcard terms right now so someone will find this ![]() AVEL LINDBERG TRANNY TRANSFORMER TRANSFORMERS TRANNIES SECONDARY PRIMARY SECONDARIES PRIMARIES PHASING DOTS LM3875 LM3875T AUDIO SECTOR AUDIOSECTOR CONNECTION CONNECTIONS COLOR COLORS CONFUSED LOST NOT SURE IDIOT NEWBIE NOOB POWER SUPPLY SUPPLIES PSU RECTIFIER BURNT DOWN THE HOUSE ANDREWT SAFETY GROUND BULB FUSE CHASSIS |

Thanks, needed that info also.
Just gutted an old IBM PCjr case to build the amp. Bought one of BrianGT's kits and that same Avel trans. Snow day here in SC - great day to solder. |
