TDA7350 12V chipamp

Hey guys,

I had some TDA7350 chips around,and was looking at some heatsinks in my junkbox,and decided to whip something up..
Not the greatest,but it doesn't sound too bad,and it only took one evening to assemble.

The top and bottom covers are just some aluminum plates I had around.
I hooked it up,and it worked great! I cranked it,and let it warm up my dummyload a bit..Later I connected some small test speakers.
The chips/heatsinks remained cold to the touch the whole time.

The circuit is basically the bridged configuration from the datasheet,does about 20W per channel at 4 ohms.
I crammed some big capacitors from my junkbox in there..about 31,600uf of total capacitance!

Pretty simple,but it works well for a junkbox project.

Nice P2P.
I think you should put a thin wood veneer over that top plate to make it look more spiffy though.

Great little amp for the bench. Handy for testing. I like it!

Yea,It's kinda ugly..I might try to make it look a little nicer..
It's kinda crammed inside,lots of wires..but,meh,It works.

And yes,that hosting sucks..But my ISP can't get thier stuff together enough to reset the password (and give me the correct one!) for my webspace with them,so it's what I've got,for now.

I just brought it in here,and hooked it up to my subwoofer..
Not enough power to rock the house with,but it's okay for "average" listening levels.
My sub is a dual 12" bandpass,with 4ohm drivers.

Not bad for a little amp,It's got okay bass response atleast.

Next I'll hook it up to the mains and see how it sounds fullrange.
And it's still cool to the touch.These chips seems to run pretty cool..or maybe I've just got an abundance of heatsink?

I'm happy..I kinda like the little thing..

Hum,I was just pondering the idea of adding a clipping indicator circuit to the little amp,but I havn't found anything that seems suitable yet.
A single LED would suffice,it doesn't need to be complicated,infact,I would prefer something small and simple.

But,there's a catch or two:
+12-15V (single) supply voltage.
The output of the amp is BTL (floating)

Any thoughts?
