+- 43 volts is too high for lm4780.
Read the datasheet...

those voltages were measured while nothing was connected. I gues the voltage will drop when connecting the amp. And btw, it's just 2 volt over the max specified voltage. Can that do any harm to the amp?

Go and study the datasheet.

Going to the limit invites lots of problems, going beyond the limit is asking for trouble.

You might try regulateing the Voltage down a Bit, to say 35v, It will give you better performance as there won"t be Voltage Fluctuations and it solves the problem of the Voltage being a bit to high....It will also cost a bit more as high current regulators can get a bit pricey and will make the PSU a bit harder to build but it will be worth it in the end....
