hi guys,
i want to build a bass guitar amp, something between 70w and 150w. i want to keep it simple and cheap, so i'm thinking of a gainclone. furthermore, i already own a tranformer with a (30v+30v)x4A output. so, simple question expecting nice aswers. what chip would you prefer for a bass amp in that range of output power, and able to get power supply from that transformer (rectified and not regulated (around +-40v) )?? thanks a lot! could it be some bridged pair of lm3876 or lm3886? edit: i don't mind if the output power is measured in a 4ohm or 8ohm speaker, since i haven't bought it yet and have no preference.

A pair of parallelled lm3875's would be cheap, simple, and would work well into 4 ohms, but the transformer is really on the small side.
