Killed a working amp in a repair job..

Hello,

I recently was given an old Solid State amp whichc worked fine, I was told it would sound alot better if I replaced the capacitors as they would be dried out, the amp is about 15 years old or more. I replaced every cap in the amp and soldered wires at tag points as they had oxidised so did this to help with conductivity.

The amp no longer works

Not only that I think I may have wired on or two things back wrongly but i cant be sure!

Problems are barely audable output at maximum volume with high distortion, however the tone and balance controls still work so the pre amp is fine? Something to do with the power amps?

Im not too in knowing the in's and out's, I just know about parts really, any help would be much appreciated!

Well .check that the capacitors are wired right and polarized right and messaure that you have the right voltages.

some of these things are a bit of a nightmare wiring inside. maybe when you replaced a capacitor you accidentally disconnected another component, jumper etc.
