I have plans to power up my 3875's with 4xSLA 12v in balanced mode, i.e. +/- 24 supply. What would happen if lets say, one side of the battery (in the long run) sags, making the voltage off balance by 1 volt or more ? Will it burn my speakers ?

There is dc feedback as well as ac feedback from the output, so the dc offset at the output will allways be controlled and it won't be a problem. The amp will still work with (say) +20V and -24v, but obviously it will clip asymetrically.

Thanks, that's comforting to know. I also plan to have a battery indicator for both sides of the supply, and most likey will not run off by more than 2v with manual observation.
cheers.. |

It will be fine. I ran a LM3886 with a +6V and -10V to run it down to 16V supply (the cut offs are asymmetrical) and there is no increase in DC offset. You wil be fine.
