Compact high power full range audio system (using gainclones).

The objective is to design a very compact music system without compromising on power and quality.
So i came up with a concept design of this system fulfilling following requirements:
1. Full system should be as compact as possible in terms of size, complexity and easy to place in different room conditions.
2. Electronics will be intregrtated inside the speaker box itself. So that no need to design a seperate enclosure for electronics for filter and amplifiers.
3. It will be a full range system i.e tweeter, midrange driver, bass driver and subwoofer, uses 3 way active crossover filter and dedicated power amplifier for each speaker.
4. It should be a modular system with provision to add more speakers (5.1, 7.1 ch) in future.

The design is as follows.

1. Treble annd Midrange driver will form one enclosure. This enclosure will further contain main X-over filter and power amplifier for Treble and midrange for both chennals. So the input to this enclosure will be - audio input and 240Vac in, and output will be - amplifier output for second enclosure of treble & mid channel, X-over output for bass chennel. This means the second enclosure of treble and midrange will consists of only speaker drivers.

2. Two bass box enclosures will be there. One box will be containing bass driver and electronics. electronics consists of bass enhancing circuit, subwoofer filter and power amplifiers. This bass box will give power output for the second bass sox. There will be two modes of operation of bass drivers - Normal mode, in which L & R bass signals will be fed to each bass driver respectively. Second mode will be - subwoofer mode, in which one bass driver will act as normal bass driver and other bass driver works as subwoofer (subwoofer filter will come into picture.). A toggle switch will be there to shift between the two modes.

3. This way we have four speaker enclosures. Bass enclosures we can placed on floor and full range drivers can be mounted on wall or use wih floor stand. All four boxex can be suitably placed to adjust room acoustics.

4. Since all the electronics is integrated into the enclosure itself, the various audio controls ( vol, balance, x-over frequencies for bass, mid, treble, gain etc) will be at the back side of enclosure. It will be a self powered speaker system.

5. Other details are as follows.
Bass - 10" woofer. bass box - sealed type 15" cube.
Midrange - 5.5" woofer, treble - 4", sealed type, enclosure size - 12"x8"x8".
Amplifiers - 60 W/ch for treble & midrange using 2 LM4780 ics
120 W/ch for bass using 4 nos Lm3886 (2 nos bridged /ch) ics
subwoofer mode ( currently using 120 W with increased gain to match audio level,
planning to add 2 more lm3886 for 240 w output for subwoofer only, then may go for 12" driver).
Total power output - 480 watts rms.
6. Depending on listening mood, it can be operated in various modes, - like easy listening mode (only one treble-mid range working with / without one bass channel) or stereo mode ( full system working) or movie mode (in subwoofer mode).

Any suggestions / modifications to further simplyfy are welcome
