Hi all,
I plan to use Princeton Semiconductor's PT2350 IC for my 2.1 project. Thats the link; http://www.ortodoxism.ro/datasheets/...on/mXuwtxz.pdf That chip includes; one 12dB/slope LPF for subwoofer, 12dB/slope HPF for each stereo channel, 10dB two channel (bass/treble) tone control circuit. THD values look good but the SNR is 87dB and that worrisome me. Has anybody tried that chip, and what do you think about the SNR? I want to use it because its very practical solution... |

Well,PTC does produce some cheap and cheerful chips for multimedia applications.You will able to find them on some low/mid end equipment,esp ones made in China Mainland.I haven't try the PT2350,but unless you pair it with some high end stuff,you still able to get good results.

I purchased three of that chip already. And yes theyre very cheap chips (1$ each). I will use one if them for;
2 x LM4780 kits from chipamp.com (one kit stereo other in parallel) 500VA 2x25v toroidal transformer a big (30cm) subwoofer (JBL) in a 30lt. box 2 x 8ohm 60w satellite (i dont know the brand) Do you think that chip is suit for this system? Or should i make a better sub filter? |

If the filter circuit is not the same PCB with the LM4780,you can try it out.

Sorry i cannot understand.
"you can try it out" You mean "try conventional 12dB LPF filter for sub" or "try PT2350" And of course non of them will be on same PCB with amplifier! Thanks you very much and best regards, |
