Pinkmouse,

thanks for the clarification. I will get some 75's then. These integrated toys have reached an amazing quality, and they are just so conventient for building little amps for people who just cannot be trusted not to short their speaker wires...

I am not sure what you mean by the caps near the diodes.

Greetings,

Eric

PS: I seem to remember Thorsten has some sort of audio circle in London. Ever been there?

Yes, I followed the link...

So, what your saying is that you shouldn't have to explain what you said... right?? then why did you say it?

Eric,

I added two extra 1000uf caps on the psu board per channel, as well as the two noted on Thorstens circuit. See pics below-

Fair enough, Skinny, so to get back on topic, what circuit are you using for your LM3886?

Eric, met up with them last month, but Thorsten was not there. Nice guys, althought they spent most of their time drawing valve circuits on the back of Beer mats

Skinnyboy, I did just what you're doing, but to a Sony amp. I had to cut down the supply rails a bit (using two transistors), but all in all it was really easy to lift out the old amps and put in the new ones. I used Rod's PCBs, which I highly recommended. I had to increase the gain a bit to more closely match the old amp, but otherwise no change to Rod's circuit.

Never mind halojoy, I think he just got a bad batch or something...

Paul,

can you outline how you accomplished that -- almost all the close to dead Japanese amps i have that it would be nice to do this to have rails too high.
