i tried the amp without the fan. some thrash metal really loud for a couple of hours! (94dB speakers can get very loud when your room is small, even on 25w).
it got warm but not hot enough no die.
of course, noises are gone.
i know summer will be a whole different story, so i'll keep the fan and this thread full of pieces of advice just in case.

try grounding the heatsink to the chassis/safety ground.

Use a ceramic cap 0.1 uf across the motor supplies...and use a linear reulator off you main supply rails ( 7812 ) to power the motor..use suitable caps on both in and out of the regulator....you should have negligible noise ....not complete silence though
