the gainclone is a power amp....
so i am thinking is there anyone out there that has a DAC circuit that will reprocess the signal before going in to the gainclone... of course, the DAC portion is in the same chassis as the gainclone.... seems like a DAC would be better off on a CD player..... |

It seems to me that you just want to house a DAC in the same chassis as a Gainclone? Some sort of selfcontained poweramp and DAC in one.
I was planning to do this with a DIY USB DAC for a friend. |

I bought and built the AW-d3 from these guys (none in stock atm): http://www.audioworkshop.com.hk/index_en.htm And I've yet to find the sound unacceptable - its definately better than my laptop's output

with this USB1543 DAC added on... the only input source is through USB.
how do we still separate the original inputs on the gainclones such that we have the options to use only the gainclones or the DAC? |
