Hi all:
With so many people posting stuff about really cool circuits and technology, I thot it might be fun to show you all a different slant on this goofy hobby. Here is my chipamp (LM4766, stereo - nothing special) that a friend of mine decorated with his art. I live in Alert Bay, BC - known by many as the center for Kwakwakl'a (West Coast Indian) artwork. The carver, Bruse Alfred, is a master of falt-panel artwork. He took one look at the two blue LEDs and said - that will be an Eagle - and thats what the image on front is. It is just freshly carved. Over the next week it will get 6 coats of clear urathane finish. The wood is Yellow Cedar. Here's a pix - enjoy. Jess

I hope I can get a pic of my chipamp case tomorrow. It's not quite finished, but it's almost done; so far, it's taken 6 hours with an acetylene torch. It's also quite capable of heatsinking a Class-A amp, so a chipamp should be no problem. (The whole thing's made of 1/8" copper, with the exception of the front panel, which is glass, and the rear panel, which will be acrylic. )

Besides, I have enough trouble making the D*&^$ circuits work - I'll leave the art to those who can. However, this is just the first. Maybe the next one... Jess |

That looks very cool, but to me it looks like the amp should be on it's side so the eagle is flying up! haha looks great!
