hi,
in the summer i might be making a pair of OB speakers, i have been informed that they need to be bi-amped with a PLLXO integrated in to the amp. has anyone done this kind of thing? i was planning on using a LM3875 because of its simplicity, where in the UK can i get a power suppy for it? would it be a bad idea to have both amps in the same enclosure or build two seperate identicle enclosures? |

Tell us more about your design choices/assumptions. If someone has enough information to give you advice on bi-amping I would guess there are some details you haven't shared.
There is some enthusiasm for OB designs on the >Loudspeakers>Fullrange Forum at diyaudio and at www.fullrangedriver.com It would be worth browsing around there and, somewhat paradoxically, doing a search on bi-amping. Use of helper woofers and/or tweeters are not uncommon on otherwise fullrange designs. |

IF your speakers are efficient enough, the SMPS modules are a great PSU and you can buy them through me at Decibel Dungeon (where you can also find a lot of other infomation regarding GC's and my open baffles).

Hmmm, my speakers are 95/96 db and I'm not sure if 12 volt rails would be 'man enough' for your speakers. If you do want to try them all the infomoration is on that link I took the trouble to give you!
