New products from Sakura Systems

If I'm correct, Sakura Systems is the name of 47 Labs' distributor.

KORE-EDA amps might be a new and independent product line that Sakura Systems is carrying. It may or may not have anything to do with Junji Kimura or 47 Labs. If no connection, the product has to be judged on it's own merit, not as a new product under the 47 Labs label.

There is a little 47 Labs logo on the top of the page, though, so I don't know if it is, indeed, a 47 Labs product or not.

The amps have that very clean, utilitarian Japanese look to them. In a vague way they remind me of the early Audio Note Ongakus. The rib-sided chassis reminds me of an off-the-shelf (as opposed to a custom designed, machined, and manufactured) chassis from a DIY project, however.

As always, the sound's the thing, and I'm very curious as to how good or not this thing sounds.

BTW, here's a review of one of KORE-EDA's tube offerings:

I just fail to see what you get for the money here...

The pics can be enlarged on the website if anyone is interested to see what you get in the boxes:

A Good job you do. I have saved all the enlarged pictures.

The preamp and power amp both seem very simple. I am curious the sound of them.

In addition, there are no information regarding them on 47Labs official website ( http://www.47labs.co.jp/ ). I think Kore-eda is another products line of Sakura Systems, not the 47Labs'.

Funny how history repeats itself.

A lot of the comments about what you get for the asking price sounds a lot like what was said about the 47 Labs Gaincard.

I guess it's expected once you can build something similar for a lot less money.

Can anyone identify the chips in the preamp from the graphical markings on the top?

Can anybody identify the components in the preamp ?

http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y252/praganj/?action=view&current=2.jpg

As far as i can see they use:

1. Small transformer from Talema/India with 2x115V input and two 2.5VA 15V AC outputs

2. Two rectifiers composed from four normal diodes

3. Two bigger caps, probably 3300/25V

4. 78xx and 79xx regs with two small electrolyt caps - decoupling caps ?

5. Preamp section with adXXX opamps ?

6. Small red tantalum caps close to opamps ?

7. Around opamps they are four resistors

8. One polystyren/aluminium input? output ? cap from BC ?

Can anybody identify more details and maybe create the schematic of this small pre ?

Who knows, maybe it sounds very good.

Cheers, Tomek

the KORE-EDA PLA1 power amp seems to use:

only 2 x 470µF blue BT nichicon capacitors per channel (maybe with the two smaller ones closer to the chip)
(info: http://www.nichicon-us.com)

plastic input cap (white, but maybe only pe)

LM1875 (or equivalent in TO-220 case)

steel potted transformer

filtering chokes (?) close the rectifiers

the few resistors I can spot look like carbon resistors

Personally I think those SMD resistors soldered p2p (on the LED wires) are nice, I like them - can only be made by hand...

I think its a little unfair to look at the parts value of amps and figure how much of a rip off it is. Im sure the manufacturer is an ethical bussinessman making an honest living:)
BTW I saw a sandwich in the UK that cost around 80 pounds, now thats a rip off:D
