ECC88 or in american numbers 6DJ8 will work fine, I'm running an Amperex ECC88 at the moment and it sounds just great.

You may still get the tube using e-bay etc.
If you order as samples from national and pay the shipping you can probably get 5 chips for the price you'll pay for 2.
3k9 is another way of writing 3.9k, with the benefit that the decimal can't dissapear on a photocopier.

Not going into your other questions, as long as basic specs are met, i believe at this stage that there is too much snake oil (or I'm too deaf).

Looking into sourcing parts for a tube gain clone. I need to find parts for both the power suppy and TGC. The plan that I am the most interested in is Joe's design (http://www.customanalogue.com/diytub...one/design.htm). Eventually (assuming I like the sound) I plan on building more and start playing with Linkwitz Orion drivers. Perhaps to end up purchasing the Orion plans.

I have been reading threads for a few days now trying to figure out the best type and source for the rest. At this point I am planning on a 2 channel unit for testing.

Tube, now that the Sovtek 6922 is no longer avail, what tube?

Finding the the LM3875T on Digikey, leaning towards the TF package.

On the resistors, what is 3K9? 3Kohms 9??? watts? 0R22... Hmmmm blows that theory. What kind and tolerence?

What is a good case? Is there a good book/thread on building some of these? I suppose I could do some sort of kit first...

Best Toroids, RCA connectors, Speaker wire connectors etc.
