Default My new website

Hi there,

I'm fairly new to this DIY Hi-fi malarky.

I know next to nothing about electrics and hi-fi and I've been asking loads of questions here. I thought I might try and contribute something so I've made a website documenting my research.

www.substitutereality.co.uk

Pleas can you have a look and let me know what you think. In particular please e-mail me with any corrections or additions you think it needs.

e-mail: sw (at) substitutereality (dot) co (dot) uk

Hopefully I will learn from maintaining the site, and at the same time I should create a useful resource for other people like me.

This could mean fewer newbie questions like the ones I've been asking...

Thanks for any feedback you can offer.

Hi Nordic,

I have only put it up today here in London, so maybe it takes a while. It seems to be working fine for me. You do have to have javascript enabled to see it properly.

Please have a look later and let me know if it's still not up.

Thanks

Works for me and a very well done web-site I might add. I love the effect when you click on things.

Hi Garnet

Nice site, but it has a few issues with Safari. Clicking on links brings up the selected info before the opening animation happens, and the graphics display is a little strange, see the pic below. I'm also confused as to the function of the show tabs buttons, they just seem to bring up your source code. Is that what's intended?

Thumbs down Confused

Maybe it's safari, but it just seems a little conjested and to busy with all those tags and what nots.

But good idea

I can't download Safari to see what it looks like, but I understand there are some problems which I can hopefully iron out later. I'm sorry it doesn't display very well. All the other things you describe are probably safari-related glitches. In the meantime, why not try firefox? (I'm a definite convert!)

I have "recycled" lots of images. I've hosted them myself so I'm not using anyone else's bandwidth , and I've tried to make sure I attribute everything and link to everyone's websites where applicable.

The site is a bit of a quagmire of copyright infringement , but I'm hoping people will see I'm no trying to rip anyone off, just help people find their way around all the information and websites available.

This is sort of what I meant when I asked people to let me know about feedback - I'll happily change anything people aren't pleased about.

Thanks for all the feedback so far.
