I just completed this chipamp based on the LM3875. The project started with a trip to the local Goodwill store where I found these aluminum cones for 50 cents a piece. I was fortunate to find a forum member in Texas who helped me out by cutting the aluminum pieces for the bottom and internal structure. I switched to using Dale-Vishay RN60D resistors from Mouser instead of the Yageo metal film from Digikey I used in my first LM3875 amp. I also removed the input cap as well. The amps are still being broken-in, but sound very detailed and clear so far. There is no noise or distortion to be heard.

Here is what the insides look like. The tranny is an old Parts Express buyout. The LM3875 is mounted to the bottom panel. The chip is supplied with +-20 volts and the chassis does not get hot even after continuous use. The power supply board is mounted upside down under the tranny.

Here is a shot of the bottom of the chassis with the point-to-point LM3875 mounted on it and the tranny platform with the power supply board. The whole design is quite simple and works well. I was thinking of adding a copper shield over the amp section, but since I here no noise, I am going to wait.

I love 'found' chassis like that, nice work! Now if you could just get smoke from the tops (intentionally.)
