I'm about 40 hours into burn in on one of Brians LM3875 kits. Presently everything is soldered straight in. I just recieved my order of connectors, a quality 50M pot, and a 10 uf cap that was missing in the kit. (using two 22uf's to get me going). My hope is to get it all wrapped up this weekend.
I'm VERY pleased with the amp. What originally was kind of a bright sound, turned into a silky smooth and very pleasant sound. It very much reminds me of my old Fisher tube type I built in the 60's. Most notable to me is the way some old familiar tracks that I have heard thousands of times, just came alive as if some one pulled the blanket off the speakers. They sound very real and even exposing slight imperfections that make it "spooky" alive. The two tracks that most impress me are: Reviera Paridise, Stieve Ray Vaughn Dog and Buterrfly, Heart Many many more but those are the two that shine the most. Anyone else have similar experiences. Any sugestions as to good material. Old or new?

For all the arguments over the good old Gainclone, it is a remarkable amplifier and does all the things that you have noticed. And as somebody who has been listening to them, in many different versions, for a few years now, I can tell you that the pleasure doesn't grow any less with time! The only thing I will warn you about is the very addictive hobby of trying to find the very best version!
