I've been having a problem.
I built a mono amplifier using the LM3876 chip, just to check the sound quality. When I play it from my CD-roms headphone out or DVD's headphone out its fine. When I use a pot at full volume its fine but as soon as I bring the volume down it starts acting up. Is this a common problem? Does anybody have any ideas for me. Do I need to use a buffer with the input? If so where can I get an approved schematic for it. P.s. I've used the pot circuit with TDA2050 amps.. no problem Any help is appreciated |

It sounds like it starts to buzz/hum.
I don't keep it on for long in case something blows. |

If you turn it down, does the sound go down as well in addition to the start of the hum, or does the sound level stay (almost) the same? Jan Didden
