I've been having a problem.
I built a mono amplifier using the LM3876 chip, just to check the sound quality.
When I play it from my CD-roms headphone out or DVD's headphone out its fine.
When I use a pot at full volume its fine but as soon as I bring the volume down it starts
acting up.
Is this a common problem?
Does anybody have any ideas for me.
Do I need to use a buffer with the input? If so where can I get an approved schematic for it.
P.s. I've used the pot circuit with TDA2050 amps.. no problem
Any help is appreciated

Could you maybe be a little bit more clear???

I don't keep it on for long in case something blows.
If you turn it down, does the sound go down as well in addition to the start of the hum, or does the sound level stay (almost) the same?
