Hello, I finished up a DOZ amp awile back and while I liked the sound I didn't find it any better than my tube amps and the heat it produced was pretty crazy for a low power amp. So, can someone suggest a chip amp that uses a 18-0-18 PS? I've got 15kMFD per side and the trans came out of a big, 200w/c, pro amp so it's pretty stout. I'd like good sound without heat as I already have plenty of hot amps that sound good like my B&K ST-140 or my Hitachi HMA-7500. I was having a discussion with some of my renewable energy friends and the idea of a high quality and cool amp sounded like a good one.
Thanks, John... |

whatsnext is to consider switching amplifiers. look into the digital technology from the past couple of years and you'll find some pretty cool-running stuff for the power it puts out, and many are very impressed with the sound. The "LM" series of chip-amplifiers are pretty popular around here and most of them will work (if not to absolute max. power) with 18 volts and some will take your full 36 and then some. Try to be specific with your keywords if you search for your information here, because there is a lot of it.
