That's interesting, I've been thinking about using CPU coolers as heatsinks for a gainclone for a while now. How well does it work? Is it worth doing?
Speakers look great btw

Cool idea to put the amps in the bottom ! You don't have to drive long wires that reduce damping factor !
Isn't it getting hot inside ? I see no hole for the air to pass through the base Those LM4780 are getting hot, and your speakers look quite hard to drive (nice woofers BTW) |

I think what he was referring to is that you have air coming into the box via the fan, but where does the air exit?

Im still working on these along with six other projects,Still have to cut a hole for fan exhaust and add fan control circuit to keep things quiet plus add a bottom. The transformers are out of mits vcrs the should have enough power,I like to recycle alot of good stuff goes in the landfill.I found 6 of these vcrs in the garbage and took the transformers out, they also had useful parts in the power supply like caps, regulators and bridge rects,Alot of older vcrs had high current transformers to drive the big motors.I used the same transformers in my tubeclones
