LM3876 for guitar?

Would I be able to use the LM3876 chip for a guitar amp?
If so would I be able to use the schematic in the datasheet, or would I need a buffer/preamp stage with or without gain.

I've tried to look around and couldn't find something to use.

If someone's got a relatively simple design I would love to see it.

hi,

i'd use an opamp in front of a standard lm3875 based amp (if that's what you're thinking of).

take any standard opamp, give it a high input impedance, say ~500kohm, and some gain. schematics are everywhere

What speaker do you have?

I must say the basic inverted config is probably easier to put to together than the noninverted setup from the datasheet. Especialy with the mono 3875 version.

better use tda7294.they have better mid and up freq response.

lm series has good low freq response.it heavy on bass.

Marshall is using the TDA7293 as power stage in various combos.
They are ok. Use a decent heatsink!!!
