Well....last night I was finalizing my GC assembly (BrianGT kit) and decided to plug it it in and give it a test. Well unknown to me my signal output wires were crossed (I had folded them to get them out of the way) and I blew 1 of the 100 uf 50V caps on each of the boards.
What I would like to know is if the wires being crossed could have been the only problem - and I can just go ahead and replace the caps and everything will be ok?!? I mean could this be caused by something else (power problems, wrongly mounted resistor, etc.). My Traffo puts out 23.1 V going to the snubb'd supply. Also, my chips got pretty hot (not enough to burn, but hot)...no visible damage to them. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Wayne

Make sure the caps polarities are right and not backwards.

thanks for the response!
The polarities were correct as far as I can tell....but I will recheck when installing new ones....I am human...and mistakes are humanly possible

I made the mistake of putting a capacitor in backward and it exploded.
