Hi i have built some of Brians Lm3886 based amps and think they sound superb. Very happy in general, however as always i was wondering about a few upgrades.
I have come by some panasnoic purism caps 4.7uf 50v which i was thinking about replacing the input caps with. Has anyone used Purism caps and if so would they be an upgrade from the standard FC in there.
Also i have bought some Elna Duorex II 100uf 50v which i was thinking about sticking in in place of the standard FC caps on the amp boards. I imagine this would help but how much can i expect from these types of upgrades?

The audio grade type from Maplin are good. The other type are not available in big enough values. CPC do some similar types as well.
What sort of value do you recommend, 4.7 uf?
I usually use 4.7uF but I think anything from 2.2 uF - 4.7 uF is fine.
Gonna pop out at lunch time and get some.
You lucky so and so! The nearest place that I can by a resistor or cap is about 30 miles away!
