Default opa627bp....counterfeit?

I bought them on eBay, and received them yesterday.

Here's the photo. First of all, it's cheap. This makes me suspicious. Another noticeable is the BB logo. It's a bit tilted, which I never noticed before on other BB opamps. Then I checked my opa2132, which was bought from some trusted supplier about two years ago, the logo on opa2132 is also tilted a bit.

I'm confused.

Does any one know how to tell counterfeits from genuine parts?

I have 627's with the 46ZTCJ7 marking too. My BB logo appears fairly straight, and it's made of some sort of dark paint, not recessed at all. Yours look a little like they're etched in.

one hint - when you buy on ebay, if they sell in threes its usually genuine. Thats the max. amount of samples TI sends.

Could you please explain more about how you know it's genuine?

BTW, Do you guys believe that the demand for opa627bp is large enough to support a counterfeit business?

TI actually will send up to 5 samples of a chip

It could be a an old BB chip from prior to their acquisition by TI.

They are genuine TI-parts. The low price is because the #%&&% is reselling his free samples from TI

He's been doing it for a while too. TI really needs to stop making it so easy for these sleazeballs. It's degrading the value and appeal of their chips for me.

There's more than one. Do a search for various TI and AD part numbers on ebay and you'll find lots of different sources
