Hi all,

I saw the LM1876 (http://cache.national.com/ds/LM/LM1876.pdf) schematic on page 2 and compared it with LM1875's (http://cache.national.com/ds/LM/LM1875.pdf) on page 1...

LM1876 have a MUCH lesser part count... there's no input cap... no resistor to ground at the input... Can i safely use this schematic for LM1875? What would the input impedence be then?

LM1876 is a stereo version of LM1875 right? Just like what LM4780 is to LM3886??

Thanks! Cheers! :D

Hi!

you are right that teh lm1876 are the dual version of the 1875.
i have not looked at the datacheets, but since they are the same chip, using either circut will work, they are only opamps remember..

56k is a nice standard for input impedans btw.
and keep the imput cap, at least until you have made certain you have no dc offset from your source.. i like to keep them there for safty resons anyway.

Hi there.......watch the layout with these ic's.......duff psu return v.s sig ground = high thd....the low sig/ noise ratio is attractive.....when circuit well designed these ic's can produce good sound. I've even used them as power headphone amps, (with a relay in the o/p to delay start and quick off to avoid plops) although one can just make out the hiss.
