chip preamp for my chipamp?

I was browsing the national semi site and saw the LM4929 headphone amp on a chip, and thought it might make a decent preamp for a GC. Has any one else looked at this chip?

There are only 5 external components!

I will porbably just build a CMOY type preamp, but I thought this looked cool.

Yup it might look good but that chip is 3mm x 3mm in size...not exactly typical DIY

Yes, you are right, thats a tiny package. The LM4881 looks much better. It is available in narrow SOIC-8 I could mount one of those on a surfboard.
