Guess jsaults is referring to the JLTi http://members.ozemail.com.au/~lisaras/the tube requires higher voltage to work, even that 35v is quite low for a tube.
If yes, there´s no reason you shouldn´t have two different supply voltages for chip and tube.
Take the appropriate tube though as I´d guess some don´t like the low voltage.
Thank you guys so much! Yeah, that is the buffer I was talking about. It was late the night I posted and I wasn't too clear, sorry 'bout that. Yeah I wondered about the low valve supply voltage but a few people that have tried it and claimed success. I guess I'll shoot for it and see. I figuired the two differing supplies wouldn't matter but it doesn't hurt to lean on wisdom of others. Money and time doesn't come easily to me, and I would hate to see the magic smoke go to heaven
