Question Stk0040

I'm trying to repair an old technics receiver. It had a shot due to one broken STK0040 module.
I was wondering is there a way to work around the difficult to get STK0040 module?

Thanks Marc

I also have a technics chip amp with STK modules. i know i searched around at one point for replacements. most of these chips are discontinued although you may find some places that still carry them depending on the model.

I dont see how you could "work around" the chip, since the amp must have been built around this chip and it is the most crucial component. But i do know that there are STK chips with different model numbers that are compatible with each other. This may broaden your possibilities when looking for a replacement. My suggestion to you is: make sure the chip is broken first, then google your chip. i lost them now, but i know there are sites out there with info on the whole line of STK modules since they are a relatively popular line of chips.

good luck

Thanks for the info, I heart some chap talking about using a BD139 and a BC556.

I know it's broken,

It has a short between +Vcc and output and between output and -VCC.

I have tried looking around with google but haven't come up with anything in Europa. Found some in China (??) thow...
