People who have built a opa549 amp, please post your schematics.
I have some chips. I am trying to decide what to make with them. |

Check the datasheet, application notes (for more power using more chips) or just use circuits designed for lm3875.
SzJ ps. When using lm3875 (gainlone) circuits don't forget that opa549 has one extra pin for currrent limiting - clean explanation in datasheet |

Both the inverted and non-inverted LM3875 circuits will work with the OPA549-I have tried them both.I am using a NI OPA549 amp configured as "current drive" with my FR speakers-works quite well. Keep in mind that the PSRR of these chips is not as good as with the LM chips. The typical pair of 1000uf capacitors on the chips is not good enough. A good quality power supply is a must for satisfactory results.

is there any reason why people use these chips for sub drivers?

They can handle 10A max and 8A continous ![]() Also they work well with 4ohm loads, maybe less. |
