Unhappy Balanced AC, GFCI, and my Gainclone

(Hi all, first post please be gentle)

Very quick background, never done an AC DIY project, but do have experience in soldering and dealing with low voltage DC projects (various things for my computer).

I'm starting my first DIY Audio project, Brians & Peters Gainclone. I'm trying to make sure it's a bit future proof. The whole concept of Balanced AC power really makes intuitive sense to me. (I think a Balanced, Isolation power filter/conditioner will be my next big project).

However, realized some problems, Balanced power is more dangerous than normal AC, with the neutral line now at -60v, a short from neutral to ground will cause the magic blue smoke to appear.

I'm going to follow Nuuk's suggestion (from his FAQ) of fuses on both lines for DC, and going to extend that to two fuses on the AC, hopefully providing a layered defense against fault.

I hope someone can provide some suggestions here if there is anything more I can do to future proof/protect my first project.

How do I protect my gainclone against balanced AC faults?
