Default help with chip amp design

i want to design a 3 channel power amp setup using the lm series chips...i will have a preamp with bass and treble control (from Rod Elliots site)...i know that the sub will have to be 2X the power of the speakers..so i was wondering how to go about designing this..i would like to be able to use the MUTE pin too..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi DemonWing, the design is really pretty straight forward..

you can simply use the circut at the frontpage of the datacheet.
pcb layout's are plentiful around here, at least for the lm3886 and the lm3875.

the more complex part would be the x-over, sepparating the sub from the rest.. i read something related on rod eliots page som time ago i remember.. it was on the topic biamping.

take a look at the designs in the tda2030 data sheet, there are some bi and tri amp designs and a two speaker with powered active cross over sub design in there (or was it the tda2040?) that can be modified for other amps, just use the front end running to the input for the active cross over.

see you soon, steve.. ..
