16 ohm speakers

Do 16 ohm speakers need an adjustment in amp circuit?

The amp wont be giving as much power at 16ohm compared to 8 or 4 (check the datasheet for a graph).

If the speaker has dual voice coil you can parallel them, or use two speakers in parallel...

I dont see any adjustments that would be needed, possibly increasing gain?

Could be a task getting much power at 16 ohms. The amplifier will have excellent control over such a light load of course. So perhaps it would be good to expect accuracy. Damping factor goes up with higher load impedances.

The amplifier will be having an easy time with 16 ohms, and no changes need to be made to the circuit. It just won't be as loud as with 8 ohms, and then 4 ohms would be louder than that as long as the chip handles it.

More power supply voltage takes care of loudness in higher impedance speakers, but you must not exceed the limit of the chip of course.
