The distortion makes amps very musical, and people love it. . So high distortion level is greatly appreciated.

This is good, Upupa: DHLMC, direct heated LM-chips

Ohhh, I played a lot with different anode voltages with the E88CC and I think, I know now, what I prefer

Franz

P.S.
Don't forget: this is a fun project, like this audion radio, using DF651 tubes:

I inherited a pair of these (from my father) as well. They were from a Telefunken crystal receiver and must be pre WWII.

Regards

This are very sensitive crystal (!) headphones. The brand is Brush, out of USA of the 30ies of last century.

It is my most sensitive headphone, much more than my 4000 Ohm Telefunken, I inherited from my father :-)

BTW, back to the topic:

It will fit in the small box, as it seems.

Hey Franz-

Holly cow!!

Earlier today you posted the following:

"I am preparing a pcb and of course: fitting in all parts will be a challenge, as I did not find any SMD tube sockets .

Franz"

And now you have a completed PCB!!

That was like 6 hr service? How did you have it made so quickly, and did you have extra made?

I made it in the meantime! Recycled another board in Corel Draw, printing on glossy ink jet paper with the laserprinter, transfering with the iron, edging (wrong word?) with "Eisenchlorid III" (dont know the word).

And this will be the power humpty:

Edit: Wanna see the board? Not professional, but it will work:
