Default Input voltage

How much is to little and too much. assuming the lm chips

Been trying to figure this out, but theres no clear answer.

When the sound is too low, the input voltage is too low. When the amp clips the input voltage is too high. When this occurs depends on your feedback network.

Or are you talking about supply voltages? In that case read the datasheet of the LM chip in question.

You can change the gain after your need, easily done and when the gain is too much

A) too much noise

B) the amp clips, sounds really bad

So theres no real
optimum input voltage witht the chip at gain 20?

I just curious. Say you only have 1v rms
I'm assuming that you dont want to operate the chip past its abilities.. Would this mean I need a pre amp?

The application notes show you how to calculate the required gain.

With a 22V transformer the peak output voltage will be something like 28V or an rms voltage of approx. 20V. So if your input signal is 1Vrms you need a gain of 20.
