It's a good feeling. I've been waiting to make a 'completion' announcment, so that I could post the requisite photograph, but what the heck. After buying the kit, assembling the 2 boards, and the rectifier, screwing up the rectifier, having brian generiously send me replacement diodes - then a substantial break for a marriage, honeymoon, selling our house, moving, and getting a new job, and, finally, loosing the replacement diodes brian had sent - I managed to get more diodes, finish the rectifier board, and get the whole package assembled w/in Peter's nifty chassis. Of course, my only set of 'real' speakers are on loan to a friend, and so I've been using the speakers from my sony mini disc system. . .so who can say what kind of performance the amp is capable of. I get my fostex corner horns back sometime next week and I should know quite a bit more at that time.
Thanks Brian & Peter! Scott. |

Yeiks, including the custom knobs the price for the chassis, wood, heat sink, volume pot, selector switch, rca jacks, and other associated pieces (not transformer, and not binding posts), was nearly 300 dollars. That included shipping. I didn't remember it being so high, but went back and sure enough. . .yeiks. Regardless, it is a beauty. For my first kit I didn't want to build an amp in a coffee can - but probably will for my next try.

Those are some awesome posters you have in the room! ![]() What are those little speakers that look like they have a W3-871S in them? Are those ELF 2.0s? Cheers, Chris http://www.SuperMegaUltraGroovy.com Finally! MLS Measurement for Mac OS X -- http://www.fuzzmeasure.com |
