Unhappy rebuilding an amp...from a megaphone...

hello...i decided it would be fun to get my sister a megaphone for christmas...i thought it would be fun for her to yell at people from her car and the like

but it arrived today and i wanted to see how well it worked...i got it from ebay for 25 bucks and it suuuuucks!

it can go almost halfway volume before it starts to make this horrid clicking noise.... i fiddled around with the speaker for a while and its not that...so i'm suspecting its the amp or the mic...

its got a 14 (i think) pin chip...it uses 4 c batteries...

think i'll be able for rebuild the amp?
