Using LM1036

Who has successfully used the LM1036?

Did you use a voltage divider on the input signal or run it straight through? If so, what gain did you decide on for the amp?

I know it isn't a great chip, but, I need the tone controls and the simplicity of the circuit. This is my first amp.

thanx,

Hi Geoff,
The LM1036 is a good choice for simplicity, but it's SNR suffers. For sloppy constructors like me, that may be offset by the lack of pickup from signal wires going to the volume/tone pots! Anyway, here's a board I did using an LM1036. There are EAGLE schematics too.

I used an input amplifier with biasing to half-point, but the outputs of these are capacitor coupled to the 1036 without any extra biasing (1036 already has it). I'm not clear what you mean by amp gain.
