The opa604? Definately not the op-amp for hi-end sound. Had great expectations initially, but compared even to devices like the AD847 it sounds artificial and closed-in. Nope, not for me, thanks.

I heard from Norbert Lehman that the new op-amp in the revised Black Cube Phono amp was a BB OPA 2604. The original BC used an AD OP275.
Would the 132 be better here too? Thanks |

The 2132 (P version) is fat/wooly sounding, but it's still a little better then the 2134AP. Perhaps some like the 2132 because it fattens the rather lean/bright sound of their system. It certainly won't make anyone's ears bleed, that's for sure. I would like to hear some opinions of the 8620. |

You just don't know how to use it. And yes, I KNOW what you're talking about. You've hit the spot. Hint: PSU bypass. Quote:

Hey Carlos,
I know it matters where to put the bypass, but how important is the quality/size of the cap used? I just used what I had laying around, and it improved my project dramatically. I'm now wondering if a high quality/right size cap will even improve that. |

Search this forum and you'll find my hundreds (thousands?) of posts about that. I suppose it's easy to find. |
