Default Stumped on single sided filter PCB

Looks like I am totally stumped. Guys how to design a single layer PCB in expressPCB?? I am not able to figure out how to place a DIP. On the design expressPCB shows the DIP to be placed on the same side as bottom copper layer but where as I want to place the component on other side i.e non copper side.I am designing a single side pcb for a filter. After I take the printout and tranfer it to my PCB the pin number one of DIP appears as pin number 8 and vice versa. How to slove this?

When should the image be horzontally flipped and when it should not be!!
Any help will surely be appreciated.
