Book for basic circuitry in amp building?

Hello all,

I'm upping the ante, so to speak, from speaker-building to amp building. My BrianGT GC is on its way, so I thought I'd collect reference material for amp-building basics, especially circuitry.

What book and/or website would you start with?

Oh, and if you're feeling especially kind, what supplier do you use for quality but "frugal" DIY amp-construction (USA or Canada)?

PS--I did search this forum for such references, with nothing quite clearly presented.
 
many people have said their favorite first book is Getting Started in Electronics by Forrest Mims. this used to be available at any radio shack, but perhaps now you can only get it online.

for suppliers use mouser and digikey to start, then add audiophile specific suppliers as you move along.
