Default a miser's volume pot

hi guys

after listening about two months to my gainclone, ive noticed that i usually play at 3 volume levels: 5%ultra low during midnight, 45-55% at normal hours and 90%to trash my neighbours.

Now, building a new amp, ive decided to implement new type of volume control. instead of using expensive pots, why not just have some resistors and switches to select between the 3 levels. This way, i could built something like a stepped attenuators but at a fraction of the cost (something like 6 resistors needed only)! We usually leave our volume pot dusty anyway.

Any suggestions of implementation?

cheers

A 4 pole, three position rotary switch (about 1UKP).

Yeah, 4pole 3way rotary, couple of caddocks and im done.
Or make it 2x 2pole 5way. I could live with 2 volume if its cheaper

The miser's pot.
