I would think that using capacitor would definitely be more safe approach, but again, I'm not even using Zobel, so coupling caps are at the end of my list
Resistors have less sonic effect than caps, and are cheaper too.We were using coupling caps in the beginning, but later decided it was not neccessary. Having said that, while I was experimenting with ML preamp, I had some instances when suddenly 24V DC appeared at the speakers. Fortunately, I was quick enough to disconnect the amp's outputs.
