This question has been asked and answered many timed in this forum.
If you would first do a search for (gainclone) and then ask questions you won't P*** off many of the forum members

gainclone = clone of 47labs gaincard.

Next time take Craigs advice though...if you haven't noticed, before you post you have to check the "have you searched" box, it's there for a reason. I know that some searches procure so much information it seems like a daunting task to rifle through it, this has the side effect of making you learn much more than what you want to know...damn good side effect

This is a gainclone: http://www.national.com/ds/LM/LM3875.pdf

You build it like in Figure 1 and you shouldn't be afraid of the most of the techies here mentioning that you're making money out of their minds.

BTW, if you use the right parts, the amp will be as good as the best out there.

Peter Daniel, Thanks.. i ordered LM4780TA and LM3886TF, u think that its ok?

u think that its better than LM3875 ?

i just want to create some good amps, with the minimun noise.

i want to create one for my House, and maybe start building a few to resell (to some friends)

is possible to create an amp better than professional ones? or at least better than yamaha or pioneer amps? is that possible ?

thanks

It is easily possible to create better amps than Yamaha or Pioneer. As I mentioned, well implemented LM3875 equals the best out there (in comparable power range).

I also think that it is the best sounding chip (LM3875).

LM4780 is good too (and has more power). Here's a typical application (Fig.1) http://www.national.com/ds/LM/LM4780.pdf

thanks again Peter Daniel, this is very good news

ill try both ICs and deside wich will use i have and b&w speakers, ill test the amp with it...

i already downloaded the datasheets like 1 week ago (before order the samples) and looks like the gainclones ar not hard

i was searching google and i found a lot of gainclone pages....

my english is not good, so please, can u tellme if im not wrong with this ?
- the gainclone is an amp with an simple design.
AND - the gainclone is an amp that use opamps instead of the tubes and transistors

this is ok right? its what "gainclone" means right

well i have the last question, i was reading in the datasheet that is possible to build and amp bridged and parallel.

so for example, with just one LM4780 i can made an 60W Stereo Amp, if i bridged it i get 120 stereo. and if i paralel it get 120 too...

so with simple confs i can get 60W and 120W

is possible to build an 240W amp?

thanks...

im still trying to traduce the datasheets to my language to try to understand 100% what it say

sorry for my english again, and thanks for ur help

Yes, it is possible to build 240W amp ( by using multiple chips) and all info is in datasheet.

Go to sakurasystems.com and you'll see there a GainCard, the amp that started gainclone craze. I'm not sure if it wasn't for GainCard and 47Labs, the chip amps would be taken seriously.

Since other amps are based on the concept promoted by 47Labs (and the GainCard), they are commonly called GainClones. I think that should explain where the name comes from.
