hi, I've built the STK-4046XI amp and it worked well...there is
4 output resistors (0.22ohm )in parallel that connect to speaker via L1 and 4.7ohm resistor.... the 4.7ohm resistor burned while ago and it kept playing and then few days ago the L1 (4mh) burned.. i dont know the reason cause it worked well....so i tried to connect the loudspeaker to the end of the 4 output (0.22ohm) resistors and the fuse for the speaker end burned... the schematic attached.. load is 4ohms, maybe i need different configuration or bigger resistor? it was 1 or 2 WATT the resistor..... thanks!

![]() maybe i should change the configure to 16ohm (serial) instead of 4ohm (parallel)? pleaseeeeeeee!!!

Same thing happened to me, resister emit a puff of smoke and shorted.
What wattage are they? Seeing as you used 4 in parallel, assuming they are quarter watt, should give you a watt which should be fine. hm |

the 4 resistors in parrallel was 5WATT EACH
and they didn't get burned but the 4mh (l1) and the 0.47 resistor burned (maybe i will put them 5WATT too).... |

I think your STK module oscilated, thats why your zobel resistor burned out. During that your chip heated up. Did you use a heatsink?
I hope so because your project can be saved. Check the schematic and the outlay of the PCB. Did you used ''good'' grounding ? Show me how you build this thing. (picture please) Good luck ! Gofer |

i use BIG heat sink, never de-attached...the module is still ok when i tried to connect the speaker directly to the 4 output end (before the burned resistor and L1) i heared a little hum sound and when i connected the signal the fuse burned (i think too much current before the resistors)
