Default Sony Speakers

Hey all,
I have a sony surround sound system, SA-VA10's... They used to be great speakers, a while back something happened to them, and i was investigating the problem, plugged them in with a new fuse (old one blown), and the chip on the Subwoofer amp burnt up... it is sony IC # SI-18751, which i found translated to 875950231 (orderable via http://servicesales.sel.sony.com for $21.05 a piece!)

I was curious if anyone here had either A: a drop in replacement?, B: Non-Proprietary Part Number (From the chip manufacturer?), C: Any other suggestions?.. I like these speakers, and the amp in them sounded decent.

Thanks in advance,

Brad

I'd be surprised if you could find anyone here that may help you with this exact information you ask for.

What you should do is get a service manual so we can see what that chip does and other specs and suggest what it can be replaced with.

Sony has a tendency to use their own purposely made chips, so it's difficult to suggest anything with the info you provided.

Under the circumstances, it might be the cheaper way...

Hi man
Sony is ripping you off.
I can buy that part here in Australia for the equivalent of US$6.26.
I'd shop around some independent chip suppliers.
Good luck
Rob
